DC Swiss Restaurant Stable Reopens With Private 'Chalets' for Winter Dining
Stable, DC’s only Swiss restaurant, has been closed for indoor dining since the pandemic hit in March. The H Street spot has gotten by thus far on takeout and outdoor pop-ups with crabs in summer and fondue in fall.

Poking Holes in Swiss Cheese
In the States, the words 'Swiss cheese' conjure slightly ambiguous, holey slices—and a good friend to ham. But, as is so often the case, this is not at all the reality. Swiss cheese is a vast and versatile compendium of dairy, running the gamut from nutty Gruyére to creamy Emmental and melty Raclette.

A Medium Rare-Like Restaurant Will Replace H Street’s Swiss Staple
Stable DC, the city’s sole Swiss restaurant since 2017, will close for good on Sunday, April 7 — but the cozy H Street NE space won’t stay dark for long. Stable’s co-founders David Fritsche and Silvan Kraemer will bid adieu to gooey fondue and reopen on Thursday, April 18 as a new European place called Steak Frites DC.

5 great affordable restaurants in the D.C. area
My response to restaurant prices going up, up and away is not to eat out less, but to vary my diet with bargains. They still exist; you just have to keep your eyes open.
